On Sunday, December 3, 2017, Ebenezer Baptist Church in conjunction with Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church pastor and congregation, celebrated Pastor Jimmy L. Jordan Jr.’s twenty third Pastoral anniversary

Pastor Dr. John Williams of Eastern Star Baptist Church was the guest speaker for the evening expressing that, Pastor Jordan and Ebenezer Baptist Church have been good friends for over 30 years; Pastor Jordan Sr. and I were good friends, just as Pastor Jordan Jr. and I are good friends.

When asked what was the topic of discussion for the 23rd pastoral anniversary, Pastor Williams replied, “We talked about the responsibility of the church to the pastor; he is the overseer, the watchman, and the caretaker of the flock. “

He continued further to explain that, his job as a pastor is to feed the church with knowledge and understanding from Hebrew 13:17 “obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

Pastor Jimmy L. Jordan, said, “This was a wonderful evening. Pastor Dr. John Williams spoke a good word, and I thank God for this 23rd anniversary and for my congregation and those from Ebenezer Baptist Church. They have been a blessing, and I pray that God keeps them all in favor, and I am grateful, thankful and happy to be here.”

Minister Elder Davis felt that, this pastoral celebration reflects the hard work and dedication that has been put into the congregation. “This day is really all about showing our appreciation and adoration for Pastor Jordan and his 23 years of service. It has been a joy to serve under him, he like a father a friend and a confidante,” he said.

“Pastor Jordan is doing a great job here at Ebenezer Baptist Church and as Jeremiah 3:15 states: ‘And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding’,” added Pastor Williams.
